Abstract
Asphalt pavements, as the highest part of road paving, are directly related to the safety and comfort of road users, and any failure in these pavements significantly reduces the quality of road services. Therefore, in recent years, a lot of research has been done regarding the failures of asphalt pavements. On the other hand, the development of roads as well as the improvement of procedures have stored a large amount of reclaimed asphalt pavement removed from the surface of the roads and their use in the production of asphalt mixtures in order to reduce the cost (due to the presence of bitumen) and biological benefits. It has made the environment an important matter. But these reclaimed asphalt pavement have important weaknesses for various reasons, and different materials should be used to reduce these weaknesses. Accordingly, in this research, three types of Kevlar, glass and carpet fibers have been used to improve the performance characteristics of asphalt mixtures containing reclaimed asphalt pavement and without reclaimed asphalt pavement, and the method of balanced mixing design has been used to find the optimal amount of these fibers. has been The results of this research showed that the samples containing 0.1 and 0.3% of Kevlar fibers and the samples containing 50% of recycled asphalt chips and containing 0.3 and 0.5% of Kevlar fibers have the minimum requirements based on the criteria of balanced mixing plan.
