Abstract

Among the various types of asphalt pavements, Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) has been widely used due to its technical characteristics. Despite the widespread use of this type of mixture, several efforts to improve its technical properties have been suggested by researchers and engineers. One of these types of efforts is the use of additives. Although additives have improved the technical properties of asphalt mixtures, recent studies have shown that their use has been limited for economic reasons. In this study, the economic effect of adding Nano carbon black on HMA was investigated. For economic analysis, a project with a length of 1 km and 6 lanes was studied. The results of the analysis showed that the addition of Nano carbons black is recommended in a limited way and at important points due to the economic load. Finally, summarizing the results, it was concluded that the mixture containing this additive can be used in temperate regions due to less flow, and high traffic due to high resistance and to a limited extent for economic reasons in projects.
