Choosing Executing method for Railway Bridges By Using Value Index (Case Study)

Abstract

Performing Railway Bridge is of great importance with regard to conditions and the origin of bridge and different operational options. At first, to examine the feasibility of how to perform the bridge, the examination of geological conditions of the origin of bridge should be considered. Then, common systems for different components of bridge structure will be discussed .Executing railway bridge is dealed with various conditions and methods. For Executing railway bridge of 125+236 of Kermanshah-Khosravi railway, geology circumstances was inspected firstly and then various methods such as prestressed concrete beams, prefabricated steel beams, run in place of segmental concrete, steel sheets, steel box beams, and embankment with arched culvert were conducted. After that each of the methods scored with value and index and factors like construction cost, maintenance cost, elegance, landscape, Ease of implementation and construction time and finally prestressed concrete bridge with 13 openings of 30 meters that had maximum scores in comparison to the others was selected as executing method.
