Abstract

Fatigue failure is one of the most common failures that appear in flexible flashing cracks, commonly referred to as cranberries. This study aimed to evaluate the sensitivity of loads and system specifications for the fatigue life of flexible pavements. For this purpose, the pavements computer system simulation under load is used. Because the existing pavement modeling software's generally based on one of two methods have been developed theory of elasticity layer or finite element. In this study, both methods have been used to allow comparison between these two methods. For this purpose, the software KENLAYER (based on the theory of elasticity layer) and MICHPAVE (based on FEM) was used to analyze pavement and to predict the fatigue life a model provided by the Institute of asphalt has been used. Also, the parameters of the load are two parameters of the size (size) and the geometry (shape) of the load, and the characteristics of the pavement system are the parameters of thickness and coefficient of elasticity of the asphalt layer, the thickness of the coating and the coefficient of the lining of the stone material (base) and the coefficient of bedding. . In order to determine the effect of each of these parameters, a three-layer pavement system (including asphalt layer, base and substrate) under different load sizes and shapes (simple axis with single wheel and pair and tandem axis) was used and using a soft The parameters and the parameter analysis of the fatigue lifetime sensitivity are specified for each of these parameters.
