Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of rubber powder on the mechanical properties of Warm mix asphalt. In recent years, a new technology has been developed, called Warm mix asphalt, in the road construction industry. The main target of producing these types of mixtures is to reduce pollutants emission. The research program included 3% of rubber powder additive (5%, 10% and 15% of bitumen) to correct pure bitumen. Also, all specimens contain 0.1% of nano Zycotherm. Marshal stability and flow tests as well as the amount of free space of asphalt mixtures and their specific gravity have been studied. The results showed that the Marshal stability and flow of the samples increased with the addition of rubber powder, and the percentage of free space of asphalt mixtures increased with an increase in the percentage of rubber powder in the bitumen, but the specific gravity of the specimens decreased.
