Abstract

Given the increasing urban life, air pollution and increased vehicle traffic, high fuel consumption and wasting of citizens' time, it is necessary to use methods that increase the efficiency of existing transportation facilities. The purpose of this research is to analyze and evaluate the tramway pavement buried in simulated asphalt pavement using a finite element model constructed in ABAQUS software. The specification of the model is made up of 200 mm asphalt for thickness of 140 mm and a height of 100 mm. For this purpose, the effects of single and simultaneous loads of horizontal and vertical load on the system were applied, and the results of the output, including von Meyss stress and deformation measures, were evaluated. The results of this study indicate that stress in one-way loading is more critical than the two-way mode, with the highest stress and strain occurring in the interior of the two rails.
