Abstract

Smart planning and integrated urban planning can be done with the planning of the interconnected urban transportation system and land use system, and will serve the goals of sustainable development of the community. Two basic pillars in the creation and development of any city or in some way in urban planning, which they can name as urban spine, are: communication networks and urban utilities. Each journey takes place in order to reach a user or activity, depending on the purpose of the journey, this administrative, cultural and educational use may be used, or vice versa, from the centers of activity to residential and dormitory applications. Integrated transportation planning and land use is a way to increase the efficiency of the transportation system and land use as well as sustainable urban management. The coordination of these two systems will reduce the amount of travel, travel time, traffic, accidents and illnesses caused by these factors and, on the other hand, will reduce the pollution of the air, save on travel costs and the comfort and comfort of the citizens (ie, reaching to the goals of sustainable development). The purpose of this study is to investigate the interactions between transportation and land use on each other, as well as to measure the sustainability indicators of urban transport system in the 8th city of Tehran. The type of applied-development research, research method and research is descriptive-analytic.. The method of collecting data and information is a documentary survey and questioning of residents of District 8.
