Abstract
In addition to loss of life, road accidents result in the loss of national funds and have destructive effects on the country's development. Therefore, measures should be taken to reduce the number of accidents and casualties. The main goal of this research is to use the data envelopment analysis model in order to measure the efficiency of the country's provinces and rank them based on the level of road safety. This research was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive in nature. The method of data collection was documents and by examining the data of the General Directorate of Highways and Road Transport and the country's road police. To determine the inputs and outputs, in addition to reviewing the background of the research, the opinions of experts and the Delphi technique were used, and the data analysis method was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the provinces of Kohkiloye and Boyer Ahmad, Alborz and Qom are ranked first to third among the top provinces of the country in 1401 and the tourism provinces of Isfahan, East Azarbaijan, Gilan, West Azarbaijan, Mazandaran and Fars are ranked 26th to 31st. They were ranked in terms of road safety. Based on this, by modeling efficient provinces, for each province, the amount of deficiency in inputs and the necessary measures to achieve the level of efficiency in road safety were determined.
