Abstract
A comparative study of Intelligent Traffic Control Systems (ITCS) in Iran, Malaysia and Turkey examines the effectiveness and adaptability of advanced traffic management technologies in addressing urban congestion challenges. Intelligent traffic systems have emerged as critical solutions to increase traffic flow, reduce travel time and improve traffic safety. Therefore, this study examines how adaptive approaches can optimize traffic management. The present study is descriptive and applied in terms of purpose. The statistical population of this study includes a comparative analysis of the different approaches adopted by Iran, Turkey and Malaysia in implementing ITCS and reveals similarities and differences. Various factors such as; driver behaviors, infrastructure conditions, weather conditions, advanced technology, active and efficient laws and regulations can play an important role in reducing the number and severity of traffic accidents. In general, attention to improving technology and proper implementation of urban infrastructure can be one of the major strategies to increase road safety and support public health in societies.
